Ron’s Thoughts …

Almost exactly 10-years ago, at the end of the millennium, the prophets of doom predicted that the world would come to an end. All the computers would crash, all computer controlled machines would crash and the world would go up in flames.

They were obviously talking rubbish.

Tonight, in just a few hours time, we will have the end of the first  decade of the new millennium, a blue moon, a partial eclipse and much partying.

Will this finally be the end ?

Hah Hah.

At this moment, 4-37 pm South African time, Cape Town is gearing up for one of the biggest parties ever.

Long Street, one of the oldest roads in Cape Town, is cordoned off for a massive street party.

All roads leading to the International Conference Centre are closed, only invited celebrities will be allowed through.

Helicopters are flying around checking on security issues.

Charlize Theron, our beautiful South African Oscar winner is here to do the draw. Also our tattoed hero Beckham is here to assist with the draw.

A “circus” but highly exciting.

I am looking forward to it with great anticipation, ( I only wish that they would ban that mindless noise-making machine, the vuvuzela.)
